About Erin Johnson Photography

Welcome to my little side of the blog world. I am an on-location photographer located in Enterprise, Alabama who works full time while also trying to figure out the business of portrait photography! Europe 2013 {Enterprise Alabama Photographer}

Friday, January 18th, 2013

Going to Europe has always been a dream of mine. Unfortunately, I have never been able to get it together. My littlest brother is 4 and he has been to Europe more times than I have!

I finally decided that this year was the year we would finally take the plunge! I have a few milestones coming up: My husband and I will celebrate 5 years of marriage in July and I will be turning the big 3-0 (eek) in September. I can’t say I am too excited about that last part, though!

We have book a Mediterranean Cruise for October and I cannot be more excited! We did a Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon and loved it so much, that we decided another cruise was the way to go. We will fly to Barcelona to board the boat and spend 9 days sailing the Mediterranean. The ports I am most excited about are Florence, Rome, Dubrovnik (Croatia), and VENICE!! I am so excited about Venice. I have loved Venice since the first time I saw Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, many moons ago. We will spend an extra day in Venice before flying home.

Now I just have to patiently wait for 10 more months :)

Have you ever been to Europe? What is your favorite spot?

Photo Friday {Enterprise Alabama Travel Photographer}

My husband & I went on a fantastic caribbean cruise for our honeymoon almost 4 years ago. I had just gotten my first digital camera & I was so excited because I had never, ever been out of the country. I recently went back through my photographs to see if I had anything I could list & I found a few that I had missed! I would also love to go back & have a do over cause there were some pretty terrible ones in there too ;)

New Orleans, Louisiana {Enterprise Alabama Travel Photographer}

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

Back in November, one my friends and I decided to take a little weekend trip to NOLA! I had not been in a very long time (since before Katrina)so it was time for a trip. I mostly wanted to get some new photographs for my Etsy shop, but it was also a nice little weekend get-a-way! We stayed at a quaint little hotel in the Garden District called the Prytania Park Hotel. The rooms were also very reasonable and it was a short walk to the street car line.

The street car was the BEST way to get around NOLA. It took us pretty much anywhere we needed to go.

& stuffed ourselves with Beignets.

We walked through the Garden District, visited one of the cemetery’s there, found Anne Rice’s old house, then walked down Magazine Street in search of Sucré. We also went out to the City Park and St. Louis Cemetery no. 3.

It was a fun trip, even if we didn’t spend much time on Bourbon Street ;) There are also a lot more pictures in the gallery. Just click on the pictures. Most are also for sale in my Etsy shop.

Lake Erie, Pennsylvania {Enterprise, Alabama Travel Photographer}

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

I recently got back from a little weekend trip to Pennsylvania to see my mom & siblings! Most of my time was spent just hanging out with them & celebrating my birthday (8th) & my sister’s (9th). The day before I had to come back, we took a little trip up to Erie. My main goal was going to see one of the Great Lakes!  I knew it was large, but I did not really expect it to be so big!  This was our view from Presque Isle:

Virginia 332

This is the Jailhouse at the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park in Appomattox, VA. Appomottox Court House being the name of the town, not to be confused with the Appomattox Courthouse! Of course, as everyone should have learned in US History, ACH is the site of the surrender of General Lee to General Grant that ended the Civil War in 1865. /endhistorylesson

Recently took a trip to Virginia for a family reunion with my husband’s family. I am still going through my photos but here are a few new ones!

Some GORGEOUS Rhododendrons I found on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

A very interesting looking tree at Appomattox

Can’t believe this is classified as a weed! It is gorgeous & it was EVERYWHERE!

A cute little kitten I wanted to steal away.

This weekend!

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

I am shooting my first wedding by myself! I am so nervous. I have only done one other wedding & I was just a second, so this weekend should be interesting. Thankfully, it is small, so hopefully it will won’t be too stressful. I also have a family/6 mo. old shoot on Sunday. So I will be pretty busy this weekend!

A couple of weeks ago, my husband & I rode over to Providence Canyon State Park in Georgia. It was about a two hour drive for us, but what an interesting place. The Canyon is not completely natural as poor farming techniques back in the 1800′s caused the erosion. The trail is actual a river bed that you can walk on.

They call it the “Little Grand Canyon”

There are a lot of other pictures as well. Just click on any of the pictures above & it will take you to my Flickr. If you are ever in western Georgia you should take a trip! It took us a couple of hours to walk through the canyons. It is near Lumpkin, GA.

Journey to Burnt Corn, Alabama Part 1 {Travel Photography}

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

A couple of weeks ago when my dad was down visting we took a quick trip to Burnt Corn (yes, that is really the name!) It is a tiny, tiny place in Monroe County in south Alabama. I can only imagine what this place looked like a 100-200 years ago! Here is a little history on the town.

I need to come up with better titles…
